About Us
UniversalWit was founded by Christopher Whitlatch in 2005 as a specialty marketing firm. In that role, the company assisted clients with online and social media marketing. For many of our clients, this was their first experiences in the developing world of social media. In 2009, the company went through some changes and left the world of consulting. The decision before the company was a choice to expanding into a full service agency or partnering with other agencies to provide better service to our clients.
During 2009, Christopher joined The Pittsburgh Foundation, and in his role is working with nonprofits adoption of social media tools. He assisted in the launch of PittsburghGives in October of that year, an online directory of Pittsburgh area nonprofits, and The Foundation has more exciting projects planned for 2010. UniversalWit no longer directly consults with clients, but the company does offer consulting through its two partners The Big Bang Agency and Lionce Links.
We spent 2009 thinking about what UniversalWit should become. The company started with success of our online game 1129 Ridge. 2009 marked the third edition of our online children’s game Santa’s Magic Clock. Even though we have two successful games under our belt, we are not truly a game developer. We are more of a digital content producer.
In March 2010, the UniversalWit site under went a mini overhaul to reflect that it is now a digital media company. This main UniversalWit site displays creative and other digital content from stories to video and everything in between. Some of it is quirky and some of it is more journalistic. As always, comments are welcome.
Later in 2010, UniversalWit will spin off a new website that is devoted to children’s content. The site will be both kid safe and friendly. The company also has plans to spin off a second site that will have more edgy content that is intended for adults. This site will bridge the gap in-between with content that is appropriate for all ages and include development news as well.
We hope you enjoy the new UniversalWit and look for more updates on the future of digital and social media.
