Fun Friday – New Media Resources
This Friday post might not be as fun as last week’s on Podcasts, but today we bring you some reading materials to help you gain comfort in transitioning to the digital world. After all reading is FUNdamental. Bad joke, I know.
Today’s list is by no means exhaustive, but here are some of the sources I read to keep up to speed on the latest news, developments and tends in new media. In fact, we utilize many of these as sources for blog posts on the site as well.
WOMMA – WOMMA is the Word of Mouth Marketing Association. They publish a daily newsletter that tracks trends from a slightly different point of view. Their news often has an interesting case study. The writing is superb and their finger is on the pulse of digital marketing.
MarketingVox – We utilize MarketingVox as a regular source. hey are established and report the hard and soft news on the industry. If you need a percentage or representative number for a presentation then this is a great source to pull it from.
MarketingSherpa – Marketing Sherpa approaches data from a different angle. They don’t aggregate it from other sites. They take the surveys and analyze the data. The Sherpa charts make regular appearances in this space.
Our favorite business podcasts – Each one of the podcasts from last week’s podcast has a blog that publishes more information on new media subjects.
Speaking of blogs, I could list many, but I will highlight a few of my favorites instead:
Chris Brogan – Chris’ writes on a steady basis and provide an interesting and respected opinion on new media topics.
HubSpot – HubSpot covers a wide range of Internet Marketing topics with practical advice on how to implement plans for success. A great resource.
Seth’s Blog – I enjoy Seth Godin’s books on marketing and he carries this over into his blog. Always an interesting read on new media and other marketing subjects.
Feel free to list some additional resources. Happy reading. UniversalWit will strive to continue to bring you news from around the new media and digital marketing world as well.
